Sunrise Over Lake Mead
When the Hoover Dam was built in the 1930’s the rising waters of the Lake Mead reservoir submerged the small town of St. Thomas. It remained under water for over 60 years. Now, after over 10 years of severe drought the waters of Lake Mead have receded enough to expose the remains of the town. We hiked the 2.5 mile trail to the site to see what we could see.

After the initial walk down, the rest of the trail through a few years’ overgrowth of brush was very easy.
